Graduation Requirements for MBA

 

All of these degrees are earned by completing the program course requirements of 36 credit hours, 3 credit hours per course, beyond the prerequisite courses. To qualify for the MBA degree, students must meet all credit requirements, as described below.

 

  1. 1. Students enrolled in the graduate program must maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.0 (B), out of 4.0, and a minimum grade of not less than 2.0 (C), out of 4 .0, in all courses to qualify for the MBA degree, to remain in good standing and to graduate.
  2. 2. The Maximum Time Frame (MTF) permitted for the completion of any graduate program is 54 semester credits.
  3. 3. Only graduate-level courses may be applied toward the degree. A master’s student may transfer up to 18 credit hours of graduate credit earned at other accredited institutions.
  4. 4. Beyond the prerequisites, the student must have completed 36 semester credit hours.
  5. 5. No degree credit is earned by a graduate student for any grade below 2.0 (C), out of 4.0, received in a graduate-level course. However, any grades lower than 2.0 (C), out of 4.0, will be calculated in the Grade Point Average.
  6. 6. Credit earned with undergraduate courses taken as required prerequisite courses by the graduate student will not be counted toward the total credit requirement for degree completion.

 

Structure of the MBA

 

The BAU International University MBA program has three components: core, concentrations, and electives. In order to graduate with an MBA degree, students must successfully complete a minimum of 36 credits, of which 18 credits are from core courses, 12 credits from concentrations, and 6 credits are electives.

 

Core Courses (18 Credits)

Regardless of concentration chosen, each student must complete all of the core courses (12 credits) and 2 core electives (6 credits), for a total of 18 credits. Core courses develop a foundation of skills and knowledge necessary for mastering the crucial concepts of the concentration area. Apart from these core courses, students will take elective courses from elsewhere in the university to make their education interdisciplinary and holistic.

Concentrations: 12 Credits. Students choose four courses from one of the groups of concentration electives to satisfy their concentration requirement.

Elective Courses: 6 Credits. Students choose two courses from any core or concentration electives.
